Hey, I’m Mac Byrne the face behind the camera at MAC Photography.
I’m originally from the North East of England (and no, not a Geordie - ha!) but now call Nottinghamshire home, where I live with my wife, Sammie, and our 9-year-old whirlwind, Poppy. I’m also a proud dad to Lucas, who’s chasing his dream of becoming an actor and studying Musical Theatre at the London College of Music, and Jackson, who graduated in Sports Journalism and now works as a personal training coach.
I’ve been a full-time photographer for over 13 years, shooting everything from weddings and events to cars for many of the leading automotive brands. I’ve also got a real love for music, and in 2024 I launched Rockstar Photo, a passion project that lets me combine two things I can’t get enough of - photography and live music.
I’m all about making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. Whether it’s helping camera-shy couples relax or blending into the background to catch those real, unposed moments - that’s where the magic happens.
At the end of the day, my goal’s simple: to make the whole experience fun, relaxed, and memorable - so you can focus on enjoying your day and celebrating with the people who matter most.

Hi, I’m Sammie and I’m the one behind many of the social media posts you’ll see for MAC Photography.
Before our daughter came along, I loved to attend wedding days as Mac’s ‘organiser’ when it came to group shots as well as helping out with tangled veils, dresses needing to be laced up, buttonhole flowers needing to be attached and even taking the odd photo (I’m definitely better at business than photography though!).
I run my own business in the design and social media world, and then spend most of my weekends either out and about with Poppy on some kind of adventure, or making a mess with her in the kitchen creating something yummy.
One day I hope to get back to helping out on the day sometimes but in the meantime, I look after the Bridal Chit Chat Facebook group that gives brides a place to discuss their plans and get recommendations for any suppliers they need. Come and join us!

Hi, I’m Poppy! I’m 9, a lover of all things spooky (Halloween is the best!) a part-time model for my Dad (but only if I’m in a good mood!) and I talk to EVERYONE - do you want to be my best friend?
When I’m not at school learning super clever things I like to draw & craft while eating all the snacks in the house and tell my Mum & Dad to turn down the tv because I can’t hear my cartoons.
If you’re getting married, I know you will have a great day. I wish I could come along too and have some cake 😊

We booked an appointment with him and he came to visit us at our house to talk through our requirements for our big day. He was so friendly and we felt like we knew him after only a short time. We met Mac at the venue about a month beforehand to do a pre wedding shoot and the photos were amazing. “After seeing the quality of the images that Mac produced and seeing they were not all posed, I reached out to him to enquire booking him for our wedding. I explained that both my husband as myself were a little camera shy. Having endless photos taken was something we were both dreading. We decided to use Mac as our wedding photographer as we were so impressed with the photos he had taken for several of our friends’ weddings.
